Veteran musician Neil Sedaka is currently 84 years old. He was born on March 13, 1939, in Brooklyn, New York.

Who Is Neil Sedaka?

Neil Sedaka is a singer-songwriter who  holds the Guinness World Records for “the most successful UK single of the 21st century”, for writing the song “(Is This the Way to) Amarillo.”

Sedaka’s music career began in the 1950s, and has more than 500 songs to his credits, including collaborations with the likes of Howard “Howie” Greenfield and Phil Cody.

So far, he has sold millions of records worldwide.

Some of his early hits include “Oh! Carol”, “Calendar Girl”, “Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen”, “Breaking Up Is Hard to Do”, “Laughter in the Rain” and “Bad Blood”.

In 1983, he was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1983, and in 2006, he was inducted into the Long Island Music Hall of Fame.

He additionally wrote songs such as “Stupid Cupid” (Connie Francis), “Love Will Keep Us Together” (Captain & Tennille), and “(Is This the Way to) Amarillo” (Tony Christie).

He has also earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and holds an Art Gilmore Career Achievement Award.
