No shirt? No problem! Kristen Stewart suited up — but skipped a top! — for the Certain Women premiere at the 2016 New York Film Festival in NYC on Monday, October 3.
The Twilight alum, 26, showcased her svelte frame in Sandro’s crisp burgundy separates, including a double-breasted blazer, which she left unbuttoned to expose a flash of her bare chest. She accessorized the ensemble with a long gold necklace by Foundrae Jewelry and lace-up booties.
Adding more androgyny to the style, Stewart slicked her short, freshly dyed platinum tresses back. But she vamped it up with a scarlet smoky eye and wine-colored statement lip.
The Clouds of Sils Maria actress — who is back on with her off-and-on girlfriend, visual effects producer Alicia Cargile — appeared to be in an especially goofy mood on the red carpet, hamming it up with a series of playful poses.
Stewart costars opposite Michelle Williams and Laura Dern in the drama about three strong-willed women living in the Northwest and plays a young law student who falls for a female ranch hand (played by Lily Gladstone).
And in her own life, Stewart, who famously dated her Twilight costar Robert Pattinson for five years, says she has been most content while dating women. “When I was dating a guy I was hiding everything that I did because everything personal felt like it was immediately trivialized, so I didn’t like it,” she told Elle UK in July. “We were turned into these characters and placed into this ridiculous comic book, and I was like, ‘That’s mine. You’re making my relationship something that it’s not.’ I didn’t like that.”
But she added, “It changed when I started dating a girl. I was like, ‘Actually, to hide this provides the implication that I’m not down with it or I’m ashamed of it, so I had to alter how I approached being in public. It opened my life up and I’m so much happier.”
